The baitballs are bait balls formed by dolphins. Initially, sardines form a huge school that can measure several kilometers long. When spotted by common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) , they rush in to break up the school and force the sardines to regroup into smaller schools. This is how baitballs. In this configuration, predators have a better chance of catching sardines sardines for food.
