1 Ocean is an international exploration project led by photographer Alexis Rosenfeld in collaboration with UNESCO as part of the United Nations Decade of the Ocean (2021–2030).
Our goals: to explore the ocean, to understand it through science (phenomena, ecosystems, species), and to inspire wonder in as many people as possible in order to help preserve the ocean.

At the dawn of the 21st century, advances in photography, cinema, and diving equipment are giving us new ways to explore. These technological developments now allow us to rediscover little-known sites, take a fresh look at the Ocean, poser un nouveau regard sur l’Océan et d’offrir au grand public une autre vision de notre planète.
Understand
Scientific exploration is the starting point for a better understanding of the Ocean. In order to develop effective conservation strategies, it is essential to gain a deeper understanding of ecosystems, species, natural phenomena, and the impact of human activities on the marine environment.
Protect

By sharing the stories of our missions through our most beautiful images, we hope to bring the general public closer to the Ocean and inspire them to love it, so that they are motivated to protect it.
